Hello. I am interested in establishing a relationship with a unique, compassionate, intelligent, creative, and vibrant woman. You know you are special, you have reserved yourself for the right person. Your ability to converse is stellar with your particular ability to balance a conversation with equal parts speaking and listening. You understand that life is not perfect, that life takes work, you have loved, you have lost and understand by being an active participant in the world around you is a rewarding experience. I try to help people out as much as I can. If anything it is something that keeps my personal success limited. I spend every other weekend reading to blind and print impaired persons in my area (we service over 4000 listeners). I also try to be active with a local group that brings art to underprivledged kids in downtown Raleigh, NC. If you have no interest in helping others in some capacity you can go ahead and save yourself time and just skip over me. I have always been this way and I do not hesitate to offer my time to those I choose to help and I seek similar qualities in a partner. A note about myself. I have lived my life on my terms. I have made decisions in my life that were not always the best. I have never been married, have no kids, and have never been in any legal trouble of any sort. I believe that living in a balanced fashion keeps the ups and downs of life in check. When either hits, I want the effects to be minimal. I am an individual. I value my time alone. But I know that I don't want to spend my life alone. I just need periods of time where I am able to concentrate on the things that require my attention. This does not mean that I spend days or weeks in this capacity. Typically, I can accomplish what I need to get done in a matter of hours. I will surely respect your need for time to yourself in order to attend to your interests. This does not mean I do not like to have joint interests. In fact I would be entirely thrilled to meet another like minded person who enjoys working on projects together (I am getting ready to start a course in Documentary Film Studies at Duke University...if Film Making interests you). I am a HUGE believer in team. In fact, I view my life partner as just that, A PARTNER. I would love to collaborate with ONE woman on a life project. To be able to love, be loved, and create a family based upon this foundation. I fully understand that more than love is required to make a relationship last over decades. But the mechanics of a relationship such as going to work, paying bills, putting food on the table, cleaning laundry, and doing dishes are all part of the day to day life that has to happen regardless of a relationship with another person. These duties I perform because they have to get done. Love, respect, a shared life those I cannot do on my own. Another note about me. I was in the US military for three years and was exposed to people from around the world. I also grew up in a Navy town, which allowed me to grow up and go to school with people from all sorts of backgrounds. I don't look at people through the eyes of predjudice. I enjoy people I only ask for common respect and to treat me as I treat you. Hopefully you will find my treatment of you full of common courtesy, polite conversation, and respect of a fellow human. Because I surely enjoy being treated in that manner. I guess if you have reached this point in this long description something either interests you or you have nothing better to do. You are able to see the beauty in life as well as the dark and learn from both. Your interests are not limited to yourself, you seek knowledge, understanding, and exploration of any type is always welcome. Sometimes just getting out and trying something new regardless of the activity is all that you need to keep life flowing in a positive direction. There is an artisitic side to you. Either you express it directly within a given medium or participate by enjoying the work of others. Regardless, art whatever its form is a vital aspect to your everyday life. You have goals and set out to achieve them. Sometimes you get sidetracked with another idea which is ok as long as you are consistantly driven to get to where you are going. You rarely find yourself without something to do and like to make plans for the future. When you make a mistake you readily admit it. You see no reason to hide behind secrecy for things that you have done no matter how big you may think the problem is. You can speak openly, honestly, and with integrity. A healthly lifestyle is paramount. You excercise but not to excess and eat foods that are the building blocks towards longevity. You want to live as long as you can and understand that through a healthy lifestyle this can be achieved. You have at least two bad habits. Dammit no one is perfect. If you don't have something wrong with you somewhere in your life then are you living in reality? I know I have my share of bad habits and problems. It's only human to do so. Okay I think I have gone overboard on the writing. Hopefully this hasn't scared you off at this point.
