Funny how quickly society changed to integrate the internet into every aspect of life. Do you think our parents could have anticipated anything like this? I like the options it gives us. Meeting new people (specifically of the opposite gender) is so limited at work & in most other aspects of my life - e-dating really opens up my world to people I wouldn't otherwise cross paths with...that's saying a lot too, because I can make a friend during an elevator ride. I'm a good friend too - loyal & respectful & most importantly a good listener who will never betray a trust. My life is full is most regards. I have a fascinating job that I adore. It offers almost unlimited room to grow as a person & completely fills my needs by giving me lots of recognition & respect. I've got 2 great kids who were successfully raised & are now off & independent & doing well. I own a house & have a nice car. I've got lots of friends who care for me & who I care for. But I still feel empty - I have no one to "share" with. My job is historic research, lots of writing & the opportunity to work on documentaries with National Geographic & PBS. Its unbelievably satisfying to see my work on tv! I'm a heck of a lot of fun, outgoing & am quite witty. I'm also very intelligent. I've been divorced 8 years. I moved to Florida from the Chicago 'burbs in 1990. What I'd like is a "partner," but I'd be happy to make another friend.
