BEACHBOYDANO

Hi. My name is Dan. My friends call me “Dano”. I’m a big guy (6’2”/250 lbs). I love my kids, my mother (Dad has passed away), Hawaii, my condo, and my black Chevy suburban (in that order). My passions are the beach (any beach in Hawaii) and my work. My likes are movies (romances… Sleepless in Seattle, and westerns…any John Wayne movie), warm fires on cold nights, coconut palms, steak medium-rare, warm breezes and sandy beaches, cuddling, long drives to new places, peppermint schnapps, Waikiki beach, George Bush, long slow kisses, a good book, vanilla ice cream, guns, history, a trip to the mall, blue jeans, a good joke (or a good bad one), Cape Cod, going out to dinner, hot passionate kisses, puns, sunshine, back rubs (giving and receiving), and holding hands on long walks. Most days I don’t feel or act my years, although I must admit that once in awhile I feel every one of my 57 years and then some. If you’re looking for a knight in shining armor, then I’m probably not him unless your dream date is Don Quixote. The armor is dented and a little rusty, and the old spear ain’t what it used to be, but on a good day I can still manage to tilt the odd windmill or two. My dislikes are few…long lines, mean spirited, rude, or thoughtless people, cold weather (unless there is a fire and a bottle of wine in the mix somewhere), small cars, most vegetables (I’m working on that one), Bill Clinton, rap (I still can’t bring myself to call it music), Michael Moore, and traffic jams. I really don’t like to dance (because I’m no darn good at it), but I’m getting into it. I need a lot more practice though so maybe you can help me out on this one if you know how to dance. My friends tell me that I’m a “nice guy”. I’m hoping that I my age that will no be an asset (since it seems to me that in my younger single days that it was the kiss of death to be a “nice guy”), rather than a liability.

This is always the most difficult part for me. I am attracted to all types of women, so I'm not sure that I can describe my "soul mate" in terms of physical characteristics. I'm not sure what makes a women click with me, but I can tell on the first date (as I suspect most women can) whether or not I want to get to know someone better. There are hundreds of great women out there, and I’ll be darned if I can figure out why one of them stands out as special to me, but she does. It would be very helpful if she likes fun in the sun, the beach, long walks, spending time with family and friends, kissing (I love to kiss) and cuddling, the movies, reading books, traveling (trips to Hawaii), flying (as a passenger), and playing games (of all kinds). Essential character traits are honesty, loyalty, integrity, slow to anger, and quick to forgive. And, if you hate President George Bush don't bother responding...we won't get along. Someone who feels the God, patriotism, and love of country and family are the building blocks of this great country of ours, and who still believes in the golden rule.
